Chief Legal Officer
Lamya is Adalah Yemen’s Chief Legal Officer. Lamya’s keen interest in the intertwining nature of law and politics as two intimately connected disciplines has led her to study Law with Politics at the University of Liverpool where she obtained a First Class Honours degree.
Lamya’s legal experience includes her previous roles working as a volunteer at the University of Liverpool’s Law Clinic and as a legal assistant at MSB Solicitors in Liverpool whereby she worked on family law related matters ranging from care proceedings to financial dispute resolution hearings, as well as attending the Royal Courts of Justice in London for international child abduction and honour based cases. She currently works as a full-time paralegal at DWF Law LLP, an award-winning global legal business in Liverpool.
Lamya grew up in Yemen before living in the United States of America, Egypt and now the United Kingdom. This experience has enhanced her knowledge and understanding of the diverse legal and political circumstances that shape societies in these different parts of the world.
